A  CUSTOMER  REVIEW

“Yes Virginia, there is real good BBQ in Michigan. Real BBQ cooked over hickory, apple and cherry at 250 degrees for hours and hours. O.T.'S Up-N-Smoke B.B.Q. in Battle Creek, Michigan is a joint that you must try. You can taste the meat. The flavor isn't covered up by the sauce. The sauce is sweet with a tang that doesn't stay in the back of your mouth until tomorrow. It fades away so you can taste it and the meat with your next bite.

I had the ribs, chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, black beans with rice, sweet potato pie and apple pie. I would have tried the pulled pork. However, that sold out at lunch, and the next 30 butts weren't off the pit yet. I almost forgot to mention the deep fried catfish---good. Oh yes, all the sides are made from scratch and are good.

I would tell you what my wife thinks, but she can't talk now. She is too busy eating some of [O.T.'S] dry ribs. I went for the ribs, to see if I could find competition quality ribs at a restaurant in Michigan. And yes, I did. When [O.T.] starts competing (which he wants to do), we will all have one more skilled competitor to watch for over our shoulders.”
